FAQ

After you have made your beautiful quilt top give it a good press, I mean it. The flatter the seams, the better the results. Clip any loose threads and bits of fraying fabric.
Mark the top of your quilt top with a safety pin.
To go above and beyond in prepping your quilt top, sew a “victory lap” to secure the very outer seams for extra strength. This means you sew a line of stitches 1/8” in from the edge of the quilt top.
-
Your backing fabric and batting need to be at least 8” wider *and* longer than your quit top. This allows 4” on all four sides of your quilt for proper loading onto the longarm frame and thread tension adjustment.
Example: A quilt top that is 60x72 inches would require a backing and batting of at least 68x80 inches.
I highly recommended using a 1/2” - 3/4” seam allowance and a seam that runs horizontal. This is to avoid any bunching or pleating during the quilting process.
Please square up your backing fabric and press your seam(s) open. This gives the best finished quilt. Use a safety pin to mark the top of your backing fabric.
I can sew your backing together for $10/seam. Note: I will not pattern match backing fabric.
I can square up your backing fabric for $10.
In the event that length or width adjustments are needed for your backing fabric, additional charges may apply.
-
Extra backing and batting width and length to allow proper loading on the longarm. At least 8 inches longer and wider.
If backing fabric adjustments are needed, additional charges may apply.

What is a Pantograph Design?
A pantograph is a repeating quilting pattern stitched across the entire quilt using my computerized longarm quilting machine. These designs create a beautiful, even all-over texture and come in many different styles and sizes.
Select the pantograph design for your quilt.
With over 250 designs in my library, choosing just one can feel overwhelming — especially if you’re not sure which style will complement your quilt best. The good news is: your quilt will look beautiful no matter which design you choose.
I’m always happy to help you select a pantograph that fits your quilt style, or I can choose one for you if you’d prefer. After putting so much time and effort into making your quilt, sometimes it’s nice to let someone else make the final decision.

I proudly use Glide thread. There are so many amazing thread colors to choose from. I recommend one of the following methods for choosing a thread color:
• Match it to the lightest fabric color or to the most used color in the quilt.
◦ This provides an all over texture and allows your beautiful quilt to be the star of the show!
• Use a contrasting color.
◦ This will allow you to see more of the quilting stitches. It can be a really cool effect to see that pop of color in the thread.

Quilting services start at $0.022/square inch. Complex designs or dense quilting are $0.03/square inch.
For example: 60 x 72 = 4,320 inches, 4,320 x 0.022 = $95.04
I have a minimum load fee of $50. This means for some smaller quilt tops or table runners, you will pay $50 even if the dimensions add up to less than that.
You may consider sending in multiple projects that share a backing to meet the $50 minimum charge.

Once your quilt is complete, I will send you your total and you will pay when the quilt is complete.
