You’ve made a quilt top… Now what?
You’ll need to do a few things to prepare your quilt for the longarm and then I’ll take care of the rest!
Press and measure your quilt top. Mark the top of your quilt top with a safety pin. Clip any loose threads.
Make sure that your backing is at least 4 inches bigger than your quilt top on all four sides, that means 8 inches wider *and* longer than your quilt dimensions. Backing fabric seam(s) should ideally run horizontally and be pressed open for best results. I recommend using a 1/2-inch seam allowance for extra durability. Mark the top of your backing with a safety pin. If I encounter a problem with the width or length of your backing and adjustments are needed, additional charges may apply to remedy the issue and be able to complete the quilt.
Batting should be 4 inches bigger than your quilt top on all four sides, 8 inches wider *and* longer. You may purchase batting form me if you do not want to provide your own.

Fill out the Quilt Request Form! Please fill out a separate form for each quilt you want to send in. Also, please bag or label the pieces for each quilt separately so I don’t mix up backings and/or battings.
To estimate your quilting total, use this equation: Length x Width x $0.022, for example 60 x 72 x $0.022 = $95.04. Add on services and shipping cost are additional. (note: for higher density and some designs are $0.03/ square inch)
You will get the address for you to mail in, or drop off, your quilt after you submit your Quilt Request Form.
I will contact you to let you know when your quilt has arrived at the quilt studio.
When your quilt is on the longarm I will you send updates of the progress. I love to share all the beauty shots of your lovely quilt. Sneak peeks are the best!
